When it comes to broadband, about 78 percent of American homes have fast internet connections. That works out to roughly 94 percent of all homes that have Internet connection, according to Durham, NH-based market research service, Leichtman Research Group. According to their data, about 83 percent of US households now have Internet service at home. Here are some findings from a telephone survey of 1,304 households:

Students of the Hondsrug college use Ipa

As usual, the actions of a few are why the rest of us can't have anything nice... The Los Angeles Unified School District recently began rolling out a plan that would eventually provide iPads to every student in the LAUSD. However, within a week of handing out the first units, 300 students had figured out how to bypass school district restrictions that blocked sites including YouTube and Facebook.

Apple released iOS 7.0.2 and fixed the two lock screen bugs that made headlines earlier this week. One affected Control Center and the other took advantage of an exploit in the emergency dialer. These hacks allowed unauthorized users to access photos, contacts and social-sharing features without entering a passcode. Besides these pretty big bug fixes, the update also brought back the Greek keyboard for passcode entry.

Eddy Cue intros new Apple internal iTunes channel to tout work by employees

In-the-know blogger Mark Gurman is reporting that Eddy Cue, Apple Senior VP of Internet Services, recently sent out an email to Apple employees informing them of a new employee-only section on iTunes.

Cue's letter, obtained by Gurman, describes the new iTunes section thusly:

The first app to take advantage of Apple's new M7 motion coprocessor has been released, and it's Strava Run. The app, like many other fitness running apps, allows you to track your distance, speed and numerous other variables of your run. What makes it unique for now, however, is the fact that it pulls data from the M7 in addition to GPS. From its version 3.5.3 release notes:

TUAW reader Aaron G pointed out an interesting Apple knowledge base article to us this morning. According to the post, a 3rd generation Apple TV running Apple TV software 6.0 or later can be easily set up by using an iOS device running iOS 7. It's as easy as touching the device to the Apple TV.
