I began with the best of intentions. I hoped to keep everyone updated on my father’s situation on a daily basis, but spending 12-14 hours a day at the hospital for the past two week made it an impossibility for me. I will be posting more on the situation as I can.
The latest:
He is still in the hospital. He of course wants to go home, but the doctors will not let him go home until they can get the bleeding in his bladder to stop. After a few blood transfusions he does have a bit more color in his face and is more talkative.
We spent lots of hours talking and discussing many different issues. Of course he is very tired and slips in and out of consciousness regularly. However, when he is awake he is very lucid and remembers many things better than I do.
I think that is probably one of the biggest frustrations for him. His mind is great and he is very aware of all the things that he is and is not doing. It is almost as if he is trapped within his own body no longer even able to get up on his own.
